March 27, 2009, Newsletter Issue #162: Water, Water Everywhere...

Tip of the Week

A key component to children's bathroom safety is keeping water where it belongs...and at the right temperature. Sloshing around in the bath is fun, but be sure to stay diligent about mopping up any spills. Even a small one can result in your child or you slipping. Also, lower the temperature of your home water heater to 120°F. Test the water with your elbow, wrist or a bath thermometer before putting your child in the bathtub. Maximum safe temperatures are between 90 and 100°F. The best temperature is 96°F.
